So it seems a recent kerfuffle has brought to light, yet again, the fundamental disconnect between fandom and TPTB. The actors still appear to harbor inaccurate ideas about why we ship, and the fans are still bad at clearing things up and dispelling negative stereotypes, which is immensely frustrating.
On that note, here are a couple points I would love to explain to Misha and TPTB, in the alternate universe where I have ten minutes to rant at them.

I have this goofy little headcanon where Dean starts calling Cas “angel” as a term of endearment (but only when they’re alone), and Cas doesn’t quite get why Dean is calling him “angel” (because obviously he’s an angel). And so he starts calling Dean “human” right back, and Dean kind of likes it, because it’s just so Cas, but he blushes whenever Cas says it around other people, because Dean knows how it came about, even if everyone else is just confused.
#this makes me want a fic in which dean wakes up in the hospital after being in a car accident and cas is his roommate #the first thing he hears when he comes to is cas talking on the phone with gabriel #and he’s like ‘please stop sending male prostitutes to my hospital room i’m not physically healthy enough to have sex #not to mention it’s unsanitary for them to be here’ #and like they bond over having to stay in the hospital for a while and become friends #then when sam stops by to visit dean he becomes friends with cas and sees how dean acts around him #and then cas is released from the hospital and dean is like ‘um okay i’ll see you around cas’ #and he gets kind of depressed after cas goes because he’d started to develop feelings and shit towards him #but when dean is finally better and released sam wheels him out to the impala #and cas is waiting by the car door and everything is beautiful and nothing hurts #except for dean’s broken leg

At the meet n greet, after the Carver comment that Misha made, we all must’ve made astonished faces because Misha impatiently said, I think the love there is made pretty clear.
And I said, Sure, on Cas’s part, its well established that he loves Dean, but i don’t think it is on Dean’s side. (yes, arguing just to get him to elaborate, I’m bad)
And he sorta rolled his eyes and said, C’mon, in the first few episodes, Dean’s running around Purgatory, chopping off heads, Where’s the angel, where’s the angel, you know, the guy I’m in love with?
Us: I DON’T REMEMBER DEAN SAYING THAT!!
Misha: He might as well have. You know, we know what it is, what’s going on. We don’t talk about it. The actors don’t, Jensen and I don’t. But we’re all perfectly aware of how the relationship is, the writers are completely aware of how it’s being written. It may be unspoken but that doesn’t mean it’s not there or not true.
Yes, at the Meet n Greet, Misha completely confirmed that Dean and Cas are in a love relationship. He did not specify romantic or sexual, but then again… At that point, he didn’t need to.
I feel like Misha just gets to a con and goes “hmm, how can I break them this week? Oh I know…”
